“La despensa” means the pantry in Spanish, a nod to our founder Amy Morales’s vision of creating a modern take on the traditional family pantry—one built around community, quality, and care for the planet.
Amy launched La Despensa in Wharton, Texas, as a way to make sustainable shopping accessible in rural areas. What began as a small refill concept quickly grew into a local favorite, connecting neighbors through conscious consumer habits and genuine hospitality.
